Alter Locus

Third person ARPG built with Unreal Engine

Satan's Army

2D strategy battler built with Unity

Alter Locus is a solo development project I started work on in May 2024, built with a combination of C++ and Blueprints


Traverse a dark fantasy world pulling off heists, solving riddles, and discovering the secret history behind The Locus


Game Systems

Combat - basic/combo attacks, parries, ripostes, backstabs, lock-on

Lockpicking system with adaptable skill checks

Patrolling enemy AI with sight and sound detection

Inventory and hotbar system

Item pickups, loot chests


Spells

Detect enemies - highlights nearby enemies through walls

Explode enemy - explodes an enemy after channeling

Speed - temporary speed boost

Heal self - heal 


Game Items

Pebble - distracts enemies

Exploding pot - damages enemies (and yourself)

Lockpick - attempt to pick a lock

You play as the Antichrist, summoned by Satan to take over the world. Build an army of demons, cultists, lawyers and other evil creatures to fulfill your task


Gameplay

Hexagonal grid layout - built to be easily modified to different shapes and sizes. Chosen for more engaging and expressive gameplay

Army building - draft creatures and spells from a randomly selected group each in-game day before moving to combat

Combat - turn-based strategy fundamentals are paramount to achieving victory here
